GENICON continues it growth initiative in the Pacific Rim with its support from our Distributor in Manila, PHILSGENI which was founded by Dr. Mendiola of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On December 7th through the 11th, they exhibited the GENICON product offering at the Annual Surgical Symposium of the Philippine College of Surgeons in Manila. In attendance, were hundreds of General, Gynecologic, Urologic and Pediatric Surgeons from various islands within the Philippines.

GENICON’s presence within the growing Philippine market continues to gain recognition from leading surgeons throughout this important medical community and the company looks for a strong 2009 performance.

Recognized as an SLS 2008 Innovation of the Year

GENICON is pleased to announce that our True 1080p High Definition Medical Video System is being recognized with the 2008 Innovation of the Year at the 17th SLS Annual Meeting and Endo Expo 2008, hosted by the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. GENICON’s Production Manager, Ken Roger, will be attending to graciously accept the recognition on behalf of GENICON, Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 during the Welcome Reception.

The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, established as a non-profit organization, seeks to further the education and expertise of surgeons and other health professionals in the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of Laparoendoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques. An international organization with over 6,000 members, with the ability to pull techniques from different medical specialties that utilize the tools of minimally invasive surgery, the Society is able to offer a unique approach to the study and education of minimally invasive surgery.

GENICON Launches New Products – Bariatric Instrumentation and Specimen Retrieval Bag

GENICON today announced the worldwide launch of two new product lines to compliment its existing range of Laparoscopic instrumentation. These new products, launched into the US and International markets simultaneously, include the Specimen Retrieval Bag and Bariatric Disposable Mono-Polar Instrumentation.

The Specimen Retrieval Bag is an easy-to-use retrieval system designed to temporarily contain specimen and facilitate its removal from the patient during laparoscopic surgery. Designed to minimize contamination of the abdominal cavity, the Specimen Retrieval Bag with a 235+ CC capacity is ideal for Laparoscopic Cholesystecomy procedures.

The Bariatric Disposable Mono-Polar Instrumentation is an extension of GENICON’s existing 33cm Disposable Mono-Polar product line. The new instruments are offered in a 5mm diameter with a 45cm working length. This new product line includes a full range of scissors, graspers, and dissectors with both Ratcheting and Non-Ratcheting handles. These new instruments have been designed for use in a variety of minimally invasive procedures including laparoscopic gastric bypass and laparoscopic gastric banding.
